Yamaha's LS series offers a selection of durable acoustic guitars with a luxury finish. Take the LS16 ARE, for instance, which sports an elegant Dark Tinted finish. Its top is made of solid Engelmann spruce, hand-picked to guarantee the best possible sound, and its sides and back consist of solid rosewood. Together, these two wood types produce a fresh, open sound. A Yamaha SRT Zero Impact pickup system amplifies your performance. Overall, the LS16 ARE Dark Tinted steel-string guitar produces a sparkling, balanced core sound that is a perfect addition to any band.
Acoustic Resonance Enhancement
If you want to create a great-sounding instrument, nothing should be left to chance. Yamaha combines craftsmanship, vision and experience, and adds a dose of innovative technology for good measure. Wood is a natural product that will keep expanding and shrinking over time. No wonder guitars - quality models in particular - will sound better and better with age, when their wood finally settles. By way of Acoustic Resonance Enhancement, Yamaha has managed to change the molecular makeup of this instrument's wood itself to match that of vintage guitars in their prime.
Playing comfort and the Zero Impact pickup system
The Yamaha LS16 ARE doesn't just sound fantastic, but feels comfortable in your hands too. Its new and improved, slim 5-ply neck consists of rosewood and mahogany, and is fitted with an ebony fretboard. Also definitely worth mentioning is the electro-acoustic steel-string guitar's Zero Impact pickup system. As it features an individual piezo pickup for each string, an incredibly dynamic sound is ensured. The Yamaha LS16 ARE Dark Tinted does not have a tone control circuit, because it was primarily developed for band use. Sound engineers in particular will love the resulting pure sound.

Bij de oriëntatie naar een nieuwe akoestische gitaar kwam ik uit op de FG-lijn van Yamaha, waarbij ik uiteindelijk in mijn zoektocht de 'doorstap' heb gemaakt naar deze LS-gitaar. Wat meer geld dan de gitaren in de FG-lijn (welke op zichzelf ook uitstekende exemplaren zijn), maar met de gedachte héél wat jaren en waarschijnlijk zelfs mijn hele leven lang er veel plezier mee te mogen beleven.
Gitaar binnen 1 (werk)dag ontvangen en de kwaliteit van het ingepakte pakket was uitstekend. De gitaar (op zichzelf al verpakt) zat in een grote (niet tè grote) Bax-shop doos welke keurig was opgevuld met een hele rits luchtzakjes om verschuiven tegen te gaan. De verpakking van de gitaar zelf is door de fabrikant (Yamaha) ook prima verzorgd. Eenmaal ook die doos opengemaakt te hebben kwam ik een erg mooie stevige Yamaha soft case tegen waarin de werkelijk fantastisch ogende gitaar mij rustig lag op te wachten om eindelijk bespeeld te gaan worden...
En wat een prachtig vol en sprankelend geluid geeft dit instrument. Na de gitaar minimaal gestemd te moeten hebben kon ik (uiteraard met beleid) 'losgaan' op dit prachtige exemplaar van Yamaha, waarbij ik werkelijk keurige service van Bax Music heb gekregen!
Pluspunten gitaar:
* Kleurensamenstelling op dit Dark Tinted model: prachtig;
* Afwerking van hoge (Yamaha) kwaliteit;
* Hoogwaardige houtsoorten en kwaliteiten gebruikt;
* Geen poes-pas equalizers/pick-up (Zero Impact principe Yamaha), dus een zeer 'cleane' body;
* Fijne matte achterkant (pallisander) van de hals, helpt bij 'zwetende' linkerhand;
* Kwalitatief goede Elixer snaren;
* Fantastische stevige soft case van Yamaha meegeleverd.
Minpunten gitaar:
* Geen (tweede) strapbutton voor evt. gebruik gitaarband;
* De pick-up klinkt wat te fel/rauw, enkel tegen te gaan door de equalizers van de aangesloten amp te gebruiken wegens ontbreken pre-amp equalizer.
